Juliana Onwumere is a clinical academic based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and a South London NHS Trust. Her work includes a focus on understanding the impacts of less visible mental and physical health disabilities on families and improving the development and wider provision of evidence based of psycho-social interventions.
Alongside her research role, Juliana also works as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in London; the provider of the widest range of mental health services in the UK.
Her research and clinical interests are focused on understanding the impact of mental health issues in families and improving the wider provision of psychological therapies for people living with severe mental health conditions and their families.
Throughout her career, she has been committed to improving social inclusion and reducing stigma for people living with mental health issues and their families. Juliana developed the first free global massive open online course on caring for people with psychosis and schizophrenia, which has learners from six continents.
