Michael is from a commercial and civil service background. He is currently a Non-Executive Director on the board of Urenco Limited (a Uranium enrichment company).
He was from 2009 to June 2024 a Director at UK Government Investments (which is part of HM Treasury) where he worked on a range of governance roles and commercial projects across Government. As part of this role he has been a Non-Executive Director on the boards of many companies including Network Rail, Ordnance Survey and the Met Office.
Michael previously had a broad international corporate advisory background. He spent 8 years before joining UK Government Investments working in Australia for independent corporate finance advisor Caliburn. Prior to that, Michael spent 12 years in investment banking with CSFB and BZW in both London and Europe. He started his career as an accountant at PWC.
